What does the Bible say about vampires?

Great question! Here's the answer:

The Bible doesn't say anything about vampires, but we should be cautious where we focus our attention.

Despite vampires being a popular topic of discussion, the Bible has nothing to say about them. Vampires have been spoken of in folklore across the world, but popularized in movies, television shows, and books, such as Dracula. The book and film series Twilight really brought on a wave of renewed vampire obsession. Even though this series came out a while ago, vampires are still widely spoken about today.

Concerning physical vampires, there is no such thing. Vampires are not real because they were created through myths and specifically for books, movies, and television. One needs to be discerning when viewing or reading materials that contain vampires, as the vampires represent something evil but are normally very likable. The author, writer, or director depicts the lead vampire as someone who is charismatic, charming, and handsome, such as Edward Cullen in the Twilight series. For those who are not cautious, it can lead to an unhealthy obsession with a fake vampire character.

Whether a Christian wants to read or watch a particular book or series is up to them. However, we do need to be careful to guard our heart and mind in Jesus Christ (Philippians 4:6–7). If we fill our hearts and minds with things related to vampires, it will negatively affect our lives because vampires represent evil. However, if we focus on the Bible, God, and His teachings, it will positively influence our lives.

Bible Truth

“Finally, my brothers and sisters, always think about what is true. Think about what is noble, right and pure. Think about what is lovely and worthy of respect. If anything is excellent or worthy of praise, think about those kinds of things. Do what you have learned or received or heard from me. Follow my example. The God who gives peace will be with you” (Philippians 4:8–9).

“So be very careful how you live. Do not live like people who aren’t wise. Live like people who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity. The days are evil. So don’t be foolish. Instead, understand what the Lord wants” (Ephesians 5:15–17).

“Be watchful and control yourselves. Your enemy the devil is like a roaring lion. He prowls around looking for someone to swallow up” (1 Peter 5:8).
