How many kids did Adam and Eve have?
Great question! Here's the answer:
We don’t know how many kids Adam and Eve had. We know three of their kids were Cain, Abel, and Seth, but they also had many other children.
The Bible tells us that Adam and Eve first had Cain and Abel (Genesis 4:1–2). After Cain murdered Abel, God blessed Adam and Eve with Seth (Genesis 4:25). The Bible also tells us that Adam and Eve had additional sons and daughters (Genesis 5:4). While we are never told the exact number of children Adam and Eve had, it is reasonable to say they had many children.
Just because all of Adam and Eve's children are not personally named does not mean they did not exist. It is common throughout the Bible for certain individuals to not be listed by name. It is also important to know that Eve would have been able to bear children much longer than women today. This alone points to a higher number of children.
Bible Truth
“Adam loved his wife Eve and slept with her. She became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, ‘With the Lord’s help I have had a baby boy.’ Later she gave birth to his brother Abel. Abel took care of sheep. Cain farmed the land” (Genesis 4:1–2).
“Adam lived 800 years after Seth was born. He also had other sons and daughters” (Genesis 5:4).
