Is it ok to be left-handed?

Great question! Here's the answer:

Yes, it is more than ok to be left-handed because God made you that way.

People are either right-handed or left-handed, meaning either the right hand or the left hand is better at writing, eating, and doing other activities. Most people are right-handed, but there is nothing wrong with being left-handed. Those who are left-handed are unique and are known to be creative. Don't feel ashamed if you are left-handed, as God has made you uniquely you for a reason.

While the Bible does talk about the right hand being full of strength (Exodus 15:6), this is symbolic. Sitting beside someone on their right side is also said to be a place of honor (Psalm 110:1). Once again, this doesn't refer to someone literally being left-handed or right-handed. Being left-handed or right-handed is not morally right or morally wrong.

Ehud, who was a judge and warrior of Israel, was left-handed (Judges 3:15–21). In no way is this said to be a bad thing. Similarly, there were 700 hundred left-handed soldiers who were able to use a sling and never miss (Judges 20:16). Left-handedness is a good thing and something that makes a person unique. Never believe it makes you weak. In truth, it makes you strong.

Bible Truth

“Again the Israelites cried out to the Lord. Then he provided someone to save them. The man’s name was Ehud, the son of Gera. Ehud was left-handed. He was from the tribe of Benjamin. The Israelites sent Ehud to Eglon, the king of Moab. They sent him to give the king what he required them to bring him” (Judges 3:15).

“Among all these men there were 700 who were left-handed. Each of them could sling a stone at a hair and not miss” (Judges 20:16).

“The men were armed with bows. They were able to shoot arrows or throw stones from a sling with either hand. They were relatives of Saul from the tribe of Benjamin. Here is a list of them” (1 Chronicles 12:2).
