Are zombies real?
Great question! Here's the answer:
The Bible doesn't say anything about zombies because they are not real.
Zombies are made up, dead bodies that have been "reanimated" to move and walk again. While they are standing and moving, they are still decaying. They eat human flesh and have a special interest in human brains. Zombies are popular in the modern day because of many books, movies, and television shows.
The Bible never says anything about zombies. This is because zombies are not real. Nobody can be reanimated and continue to live while also being dead. Many people try to claim Zechariah 14:12 hints at a zombie apocalypse, but this is not true. It is more reasonable to say this passage refers to biological warfare, or it could be a special plague designed by God just for this event.
While the Bible doesn't talk about zombies, it does talk about coming back from the dead. Jesus died, was buried, and rose again (1 Corinthians 15:1–4). He was not resurrected as a zombie, but rather, He was resurrected into power, glory, and honor. One day, God will also change our perishable bodies to be imperishable (1 Corinthians 15:54–56).
Bible Truth
“Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, 'This is what is written. The Messiah will suffer. He will rise from the dead on the third day. His followers will preach in his name. They will tell others to turn away from their sins and be forgiven. People from every nation will hear it, beginning at Jerusalem. You have seen these things with your own eyes. I am going to send you what my Father has promised. But for now, stay in the city. Stay there until you have received power from heaven’” (Luke 24:45–49).
“We know that Christ was raised from the dead and will never die again. Death doesn’t control him anymore” (Romans 6:9).
“We are like the earthly man. And we will be like the heavenly man” (1 Corinthians 15:49).
