How should I pray?

Great question! Here's the answer:

You can pray by talking to God honestly from your heart—there's no wrong way to do it!

There's no special formula for prayer—God just wants to hear from your heart! But Jesus did teach His disciples a helpful pattern we call "The Lord's Prayer."

A good prayer often includes: praising God for who He is, thanking Him for what He's done, confessing (admitting) your sins, and asking for what you need. But you don't have to follow any particular order.

You can pray out loud or silently in your head. You can pray with your eyes open or closed, standing or kneeling. You can pray long prayers or short ones. God doesn't care about the details—He just wants to hear from you!

The most important thing is to be honest with God. He already knows what you're thinking anyway, so just tell Him what's on your heart. He's always ready to listen.

Bible Truth

"And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him" (Matthew 6:7-8).

"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us" (1 John 5:14).
